Care and Maintenance
The best quality materials used in the making of the Historic garments guarantees an excellent performance and duration. To maintain unaltered this features it is necessary to adopt some precautions and the follow the correct cleaning process.
However the care and attention for your garment must begin from the first moment. Keep in mind that, even if given in experts hands, your garment, before reaching your destination, has traveled into a closed box and has been kept in a warehouse or hanged in a store. For these reasons it is best to avoid to put it immediately in your close, but it’s suggestible to let it breath in cool place protected from the sun, all night long. Garments filled with feathers
It’s important to carefully follow the washing, drying and ironing instructions indicated into the specific label attached in ever garment, to guarantee the correct treatment, respecting both the fabric characteristics and the feathers filling features.
It is suggestible to proceed with the garment washing before it will get too dirty. It is possible to proceed with the washing at the house with the washer, or by using specialized laundries.
In both cases it is best to remove the fur from the garment and to protect the zip slider to avoid that they will get ruined. It is not suggested to use of fabric softener, that, with time, could cause the sagging of the stitching.
Do not use bleach, nor chlorine based products, since, they could irreversibly damage the feathers.
The rinsing must be repeated multiple times, until the release of clear water. One incomplete washing and rinsing can cause a ring into the fabric.
Insert in the dryer for 20 minutes the washed garment, so that the feathers will get reconditioned and will regain the original volume.
In the washer absence, shake the washer garment to give it air and favor the feathers redistribution, and hang it flat, avoiding the direct sun exposition. Repeat the operation periodically until the garment is completely dry. In case the feather remains compacted, bring the garment to a laundry for a drying drum cycle.
For the ironing, it is important to follow the instructions illustrated in the label attached in every garment, to avoid to damage the fabric.
The dry wash is consented only for garments that indicated that into the appropriate label.
During the change of the season, it is suggestible to place the down jacket in a cotton bag, so that it will not absorb dust and humidity, becoming damaged.
Garments filled with wadding
The wadding filling, realized both with natural or synthetic materials, offers the advantage to isolate the cold, making the garments soft and fluffy. Our synthetic wadding, at the contrary compared to the waddings realized with the common natural fibers, are more resistant, as well, of with an easy washing and maintenance. We although suggest to strictly follow the washing instructions attached inside the jacket, to preserve both the wadding thermal quality, and to respect the structure and characteristics of the other materials used, and primarily the fabric.
To regain the fur volume and softness, it is sufficient to brush it, as we do for our hair. For a deeper cleaning, it is important to use specialized laundries. It is absolutely advisable the domestic washing, to avoid the risk of damages.
If the fur comes in contact with rain or snow, do not brush it, but let it dry repaired from heat sources. It is advisable the use of shoulder bags that could damage the fur. Clean the fur at least once a year to maintain intact the brightness and elasticity. About to use naphthalene or fragrances that can leave stains. During the summer period preserve the garment in a suitable place, with reduced temperate and humidity.
